Electricity
prices are on the up. Electricity is responsible
for much of the CO2 we produce. Two good reasons
to change our ways!
Look
out for the label
The
Energy label on appliances will tell you how
efficient that model is, how much CO2 it will
produce, and how much it will cost you to run.
For washing appliances, it also includes information
on water use, and spin drying performance. the
more energy efficient the more money you save
and the more you help the environment.

Freezers
and fridge/freezers are probably the single
most expensive electrical appliance to run in
the house.
When buying a new fridge or fridge freezer,
it pays to look for one with an ‘A+’
rating for energy efficiency. It
should save you £45 a year when compared
to an older model.
If
you don’t yet need to replace your fridge/freezer,
try fitting a SavaPlug
- a clever device that saves money by reducing
the electricity needs of cold appliances.
